Amanda Choang
Amanda Choang is a third year undergraduate student at Grand Valley
State University studying Advertising and Public Relations with a
minor in Marketing. She is also a member of the Frederik Meijer Honors
College. Beginning in the fall of 2021, Amanda will uphold a position
as a mentor to incoming freshmen in the Frederik Meijer Honors College.
Since her sophomore year of high school, Amanda has spent her
time tutoring elementary school students. Her most recent position
being a tutor in one of the first cohorts in the launch of the
Targeted Literacy Project.
Inspired by her freshman year sequence in the FMHC, Amanda has
also spent time in various volunteer opportunities relating closely to
food and the community. This has helped her develop a greater
understanding of the food insecurity faced by many members of the
Grand Rapids area. In the future, Amanda hopes to utilize this
knowledge to better serve her community.
