Grand Valley Police Department responds to reports of lost & found items valued at or above $100

Our department will no longer be accepting property of minor value (below $100); however, the following buildings will hold items of minor value for a short period of time:

Allendale Campus:


Grand Rapids Campuses: 


IT handles recovered flash drives. Please call the I.T. Helpdesk at (616) 331-2101 if you have lost a flash drive.

Grand Valley Police Department will continue to accept and manage property of major value, $100 and above. 

  • To retrieve a lost item, please stop in to our office on the Allendale or Pew Campuses between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
  • You will need to bring with you a picture ID to retrieve lost property.

All items of value are held for 6 months. After that time, items are donated to the Surplus Store or destroyed. 

If you have LOST an item:

To report a lost item, you can:

  • Enter the information using the link below; or
  • Stop by our office during business hours and give a description of the lost item.

We will attempt to match what you have lost with any similar items that may have been turned in to our department. If we cannot match your item, we will log your information and description in our database and contact you if it is found. 

If you have FOUND an item:

For items with a value of $100 or more, please bring to the police department during business hours or contact the police department at (616) 331-3255.

For items with a value under $100, please bring to the nearest lost and found location so staff can attempt to identify and contact the owner, or attempt to match the item to items in the LOST database.
