This scholarship helps educators expand their impact — whether by pursuing a graduate degree, earning an endorsement, or deepening their expertise through advanced coursework at GVSU.

Eligibility Criteria
Scholarships are subject to the availability of funds and are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis to applicants who complete all requirements.
Eligible Applicants:
- Must be employed full-time at a GVSU-authorized charter school.
- Must meet GVSU graduate program admission requirements.
Financial Support
Scholarships are available for up to 12 credits per person per academic year (Fall through Spring/Summer semesters).
Scholarship Amount:
- 50% of GVSU tuition for individuals with less than five years of continuous employment at a GVSU-authorized charter school.
- 80% of GVSU tuition for individuals with five or more years of continuous employment at a GVSU-authorized charter school.
Requirements and Assurances
- Applicants must complete a scholarship application before each semester.
- Recipients must maintain good academic and employment standing during the semester in which funds are awarded.

- Scholarships are awarded through a competitive application process
- All awards are subject to the availability of funds
Approved Courses
- Graduate level Education Program courses offered by the College of Education and Community Innovation (CECI)
- Undergraduate courses within the Teachable Majors and Minors Endorsements
- Courses within the Professional Master of Arts in Social Innovation (PMASI) program, offered by the School of Interdisciplinary Studies.
- Other courses may be considered if they:
- Are relevant to the applicant’s current role and responsibilities at their school
- Address a demonstrated need within the school

GVSU's Masters of Education (M.Ed.) in Educational Leadership prepares educators for PK–12 leadership roles with a flexible, hands-on curriculum that blends theory and practice. Students can choose a general leadership track or an emphasis in Special Education Administration, gaining expertise in law, finance, curriculum, personnel, and instructional leadership.
GVSU's Educational Specialist (Ed.S.) in Leadership program prepares experienced educators for district- and central-office leadership roles, including superintendent and administrative positions. Building on a master’s degree, the program blends theory, research, and practical application through case-based learning, a culminating practicum, and coursework in instructional management, policy, finance, and law. GVSU's Masters of Education (M.Ed.) in Learning, Design, and Technology (LDT) program prepares professionals to create engaging, research-based learning environments across PK–12, higher education, business, and non-profit settings. The program combines contemporary learning theory and emerging technology with practical application, offering two emphasis areas: educational technology and instructional design. GVSU's Master of Arts (M.A.) in Higher Education and Student Affairs Administration (HESAA) program prepares students for administrative and leadership roles in higher education, fostering student success and promoting inclusive campus communities. GVSU's Masters of Education (M.Ed.) in Instruction and Curriculum equips educators with advanced knowledge, practical skills, and graduate-level specialization across a range of teaching contexts. Offered with four distinct emphases — Early Childhood, Educational Differentiation, Elementary, and Secondary Education — the program allows educators to tailor their learning to their professional goals while deepening expertise in curriculum, instruction, assessment, and educational leadership.
GVSU's Master of Education in Literacy Studies program offers flexible options to match your career goals. The Reading/Language Arts major leads to Elementary Reading, Secondary Reading, or K–12 Reading Specialist degrees and endorsements, while the General Literacy Studies major offers a broader literacy focus — including a pathway for those who have earned an ESOL certificate at GVSU to then earn a full master’s degree.
GVSU's Master of Education (M.Ed.) in School Counseling prepares educators to become professional school counselors in PK–12 public, private, and charter schools. Approved by the Michigan Department of Education and aligned with the American School Counselor Association (ASCA) National Model, the program develops skills in academic, social/emotional, and career counseling. GVSU Professional Master of Arts (M.A.) in Social Innovation program empowers professionals to lead positive social change across organizations, businesses, and communities. This flexible 36-credit hybrid program blends theory and practice through courses in innovation, community engagement, and policy development, preparing graduates to tackle today’s most pressing social challenges with creativity and impact. GVSU offers both undergraduate and graduate-level endorsements for educators seeking to expand their teaching credentials in Michigan. Endorsements allow certified teachers to add new subject areas or specializations to their existing Michigan teaching certificates.
