According to Michigan charter school law, charter authorizers may retain up to 3% of the per-pupil funds its charter schools receive. At GVSU, these funds are used to cover operational costs; however, a significant portion is returned to the schools either directly or through supplemental support opportunities.

Below are support opportunities available to GVSU's charter schools that incorporate involvement from boards of directors.
