Nigel Armstrong - Electrical Engineering
Nigel is a senior in the Frederik Meijer Honors College at Grand
Valley State University pursuing a bachelor's degree in Electrical
Engineering with a minor in Mathematics. He graduated from Howell High
School in 2016 with Summa Cum Laude Honors. Originally from Livonia
and Canton, near Metro Detroit, he and his family moved to Howell,
Michigan in 2005 and have been happily living there ever since. He is
the President of the Formula SAE Racing Club, an active member of the
Swim and Dive Club, and a member of a couple honors societies on
campus, including Tau Beta Pi. He spends most of his free time talking
cars with just about anybody, playing video games with his siblings,
and skiing. He is currently employed as a manufacturing controls
systems co-op student at General Motors in Wyoming, Michigan.
Following graduation in August of 2020, he will be entering the U.S.
Navy as a nuclear propulsion officer for a 5 year officer's
commission. He has been impressed by all of the programs offered by
the Hauenstein Center, and is looking forward to this year's offerings
to elevate and improve his leadership and social skills.
