Samantha Luken - Communication Studies
Samantha Luken is a senior Communication Studies and Theatre minor,
with a passion for art administration. Her studies revolve around the
history of humanity's communication through art and spirituality.
Samantha is currently an undergraduate research assistant at the
Kutsche Office of Local History, exploring and archiving the cultural
and religious history of Temple B'nai Israel, in Muskegon, MI. She has
been involved in GVSU's Campus Interfaith programs for 2 years,
striving towards creating a safe campus culture of acceptance, rather
than hate. Samantha also has devoted much of her studies to
Shakespearean performance work, and through the GVSU Shakespeare
Festival has been trained vocally, physically and in stage combat. She
has worked for Drama Kids of Michigan directing and designing
children's theatre. Samantha received an "I Am Grand Valley"
Award for her participation in GVSU's Hillel eboard as the 2017-2018
Interfaith Coordinator. She is advocate for social change, and hopes
to help build a world where art can bring those of all cultures together.
