Laura Miller - Biomedical Sciences
Laura is a junior at Grand Valley State University in the Frederik
Meijer Honors College pursuing a degree in Biomedical Sciences with a
minor in Spanish. After she finishes her undergraduate degree, she
plans to further her education with the goal of attending medical
school. A native of Clinton Township on the east side of the Michigan,
she has immersed herself in the Grand Rapids community through the
organizations that she now is a part of. She current serves as the
Treasurer for her sorority, Phi Mu, in addition to serving as the
President of Habitat for Humanity at Grand Valley. Further, Laura
works as a medical scribe in the Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital
Emergency Department, where she enjoys indirectly helping the patients
as she receives a glimpse into her hopeful future as a medical doctor.
She enjoys spending her free time volunteering in the community or at
her cottage on Lake Huron with her friends and family, in addition to
traveling and serving abroad while learning about other cultures.
Laura aspires to continue to learn more about herself as a leader
through the Cook Leadership Academy, and to carry the skills she
learns forward into her future career in medicine.
