Cameron Jones - Political Science & International Relations
Cameron Jones is a fourth-year student pursuing a double major in
Political Science and International Relations. Cameron grew up in
Trenton, Michigan, and he graduated from Gabriel Richard Catholic High
School in 2016. After beginning at Grand Valley, Cameron quickly made
the most of the university's opportunities for leadership development.
He has completed the First Year Leadership Experience, the LeaderShape
Institute program, and two years of study in the Cook Leadership
Academy. His service on campus includes two years on Grand Valley's
Student Senate, including one year as chair of the organization's
External Relations Committee, and time spent on the GVSU Votes! team.
Off campus, Cameron has committed hundreds of volunteer hours to
helping elect political candidates who will stand up for a clean
environment, a robust public education system, and quality, affordable
healthcare in Michigan. In Spring 2019, he achieved Truman Scholar
finalist status in recognition of his deep commitment to public
service. Cameron's greatest role model is Fred Rogers, of Mister
Rogers’ Neighborhood fame, who dedicated his life to emotional
development and to the genuine care of each person.
