Description
Welcome to the Grand Valley State University teaching community!
On behalf of the Office of the Provost and the Robert and Mary Pew Faculty Teaching and Learning Center, all new faculty are invited to attend a VIRTUAL (online) New Faculty Orientation on Wednesday, August 12 and Thursday, August 13, 2020. New tenure-track faculty will also participate in an additional session on Friday, August 14, 2020.
Orientation will equip new faculty with information to support your success at GVSU and is designed with opportunities for new faculty to meet and engage with one another and with GVSU leadership.
We are going virtual this year and ask that new faculty reserve these two days for some synchronous session (live streaming) as well as asynchronous work. The synchronous time together (~2-3 hours each day) will include remarks from Provost Cimitile and President Mantella and will also engage new faculty in case study reviews and small-group discussions. The intent is that all new faculty leave Orientation with tools, resources, new relationships and supports, and with a better sense of our Laker Community. The schedule of required and optional sessions is still being finalized. Please visit our New Faculty Orientation webpage (www.gvsu.edu/ftlc/nfo) for the most up-to-date information.
