Description
This workshop BEGINS on Friday, October 2nd and will have weekly meetings scheduled throughout the month of October.
The format of this workshop has been revised to accommodate university guidelines of no face-to-face contact during the Fall 2020 semester.
This workshop is designed to support faculty members preparing for a pre-tenure or tenure personnel review in 2020-21. Working with an assigned faculty mentor, participants will compose their Personal/Reflective Statement and as time permits, prepare other supporting materials for their portfolio in accordance with their college and unit personnel policies.
This multi-week writing-intensive workshop incorporates self-study, weekly phone or video meetings with your mentor, writing time, and optional weekly supplemental support/information sessions. Participants will receive individualized feedback on submitted drafts from their assigned faculty mentor throughout the workshop.
Participants are expected to:
- Devote up to two hours weekly to meet remotely as a group with workshop mentors and participants (Fridays, 1-3pm);
- Devote one hour weekly to meet with your assigned mentor (you will individually set this regular meeting time with your mentor);
- Read assigned materials;
- Set aside 4-5 hours per week to compose drafts and compile evidence for your portfolio; drafts will be submitted weekly for feedback culminating with a complete working draft of the personal statement by the end of the workshop.
