Mitchell Grewer, China

While in China I became known as "'Y" or "Big Orange". Why? Because I am big and because I love Chinese Minute Maid orange juice. While in China, I climbed a mountain over 5000 feet tall. I trekked across the Great Wall of China. I learned about Chinese culture and learning about it taught me even more about myself. I grew my perspective, networked with future employers, and grew lifelong friendships. I pushed past my comfort zone everyday and made some incredible memories.

None of this could have been possible without the Mark A. and Elizabeth C. Murray Study Abroad Scholarship. The generosity of the Murray family and Grand Valley State University provided me opportunities that have already been invaluable. These experiences will continue to make me a marketable professional and a more well-rounded individual.
