Patricia Bohn, Greece
Dear Murray Family,
In 2010 I spent a semester in Greece. The trip was a time
for me to explore an artistic avenue, and also heal from personal
obstacles that I had recently faced. It was my time to learn about
myself. It’s something I talk about often and think about always. I
could never thank you enough for the scholarship, because the
opportunity was the best of my life.
Right now I am working as a pediatric occupational
therapist. A large chunk of my day is spent painting, drawing and
exploring with the kids. I encourage fine motor, hand strength and
sensory processing through the medium of art. A medium I have a skill
set from, thanks to my time in Greece.
Additionally, I have recently been married. This life
event has brought upon daily schedule changes. My husband and I both
realized that the two of us need our own hobbies. I am sure you
guessed it, mine hobby is art. I spent the nights and weekends
painting, and fixing up furniture pieced that I collect from garage
sales and thrift shops. I am going to sell my work at a booth this summer.
My time in Greece not only was a time to learn artistic
techniques, but a time to grow personally, professionally and
holistically. I am forever grateful for your generosity.
Thank you,
Patricia C. Bohn
