Mexico, 2002-03
My time studying abroad in Mexico literally changed my life. After returning to the US I began a journey to figure out what my responsibility and role could be to deter the continued colonization of Mexico. I currently serve as the lead professor for the Mexico Solidarity Network’s semester and summer study abroad programs in Chiapas, Tlaxcala, and Mexico City. Our program focused on Mexican social movements fighting to indigenous campesino, and housing rights. I only hope to convince students to take full advantage of their opportunities to turn intelligence into action. What good are your smarts if you’re not using them to fight for justice?
