Restriction on Entry of Certain Nonimmigrant Workers
On September 19, 2025, President Trump issued a Proclamation entitled "Restriction on Entry of Certain Nonimmigrant Workers," requiring that petitions for H-1B applicants who are currently outside of the United States be accompanied by a $100,000 fee.

If a government or law enforcement official enters or requests to enter a non-public area of a GVSU campus, or if you need to respond to such an official present on campus, please immediately call the Office of General Counsel at (616) 331-2067. If you cannot reach the Office of General Counsel immediately, please contact the Department of Public Safety at (616) 331-3255. The Office of General Counsel will also handle any requests from an official for student information to ensure proper application of the protections in the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
