Mackenzie Johnson
Mackenzie Johnson is a third year student in the Frederik Meijer
Honors College at Grand Valley State University, majoring in
Biomedical Sciences with a Nutrition Emphasis and minoring in
Business. She plans to continue her education at a Naturopathic
Medical School after her undergraduate degree where she will work to
become a Naturopathic Doctor. Mackenzie's main goal in her future
career is to help patients find the root cause of their health
conflict and ensure that they are physically, mentally, emotionally,
and spiritually strong to optimize their health potential. Mackenzie
has always been passionate about leading others, but developed a
strong understanding of the elements of leadership throughout her high
school career where she held director positions for Freshman
Orientation events and leadership retreats. Currently on campus,
Mackenzie is a mentor for the Honors College and also is on the
Programming Board for the Honors Student Council. Mackenzie enjoys
working with kids and has loved the opportunity to tutor through the
K-12 Connect program throughout her first two years at GVSU. She also
works in the Central Housing Office at GVSU as a Clerical Aide.
Outside of academics, Mackenzie loves to spend time with family and
friends while staying active through running, being outside, and
skiing on Lake Michigan. This year Mackenzie hopes to grow in her
leadership abilities to become a stronger member of the community and
work to leave a positive impact.
