1. Spring Appreciation Gathering

CLAS Faculty Council and the CLAS Dean’s Office are organizing a Spring Celebration. Mark your calendars for Wednesday, April 27 from 10:30 am-2:00 pm. We want to create an occasion to acknowledge the achievements, challenges, and losses from the last two years, to provide a space for staff and faculty to connect with colleagues from across the College, and to celebrate the arrival of Spring. The event will take place outdoors at Calder Art Center. Plan to stop by anytime. More details will follow.

2. Advising Tips

Complete Withdrawal

Students withdrawing from all courses during an academic term must submit an electronic complete withdrawal form and forward the form via email to the Registrar’s Office at [email protected]. Students do not need to obtain the signature of their faculty or professional advisor on the form. The deadline for submitting a complete withdrawal form for any semester is 5:00 p.m. on the Friday of the last week classes (April 22, 2022), prior to the start of final exams. After this date, students will need to appeal for a complete withdrawal through the Academic Review Committee.

Tutoring Support

Tutoring continues to be offered for a wide variety of classes. The Tutoring Website provides a full list of the services available to students through the end of the semester, along with links to the appointment scheduling information.

Counseling and Mental Health Support

The University Counseling Center provides an array of services—all with the purpose of improving the mental health of the GVSU community through counseling, education, and consultation. If you feel concerned about a student’s mental health, the University Counseling Center offers a variety of services tailored to each student’s individual needs:

Mail Room Suggestions for Directing Packages

When you are ordering something and having it shipped to GV -- please use the 1 Campus Drive address so it gets to Shipping & Receiving properly. Also, please include a name or department name within the address. We are receiving packages that are addressed to GV but with no name or department name in the address. The only thing we can do is open the package (or the packing list if there is one) in hopes there is a clue inside to help us find the recipient of this package. Otherwise, it will sit in the mailroom until someone calls looking for their package.
