Fall 2025

Current Mitigation Efforts
Grand Valley State University continues to endorse CDC guidelines. However, we also ask that students follow-up with the campus health center and/or their local primary care provider if additional guidance is required. GVSU is no longer sending out emails to faculty when students test positive for COVID-19. Instead, we ask that students communicate their status to their professors and work with them to make a plan for classwork. We also recommended isolating in place or traveling home when possible. As part of our transition from the public health emergency we’ve shifted to a more individualized responsibility. It is our hope that students will create a plan in the event of any illness. Masks remain optional in all campus locations, although faculty members can request their students wear face masks in class. See the Face Covering Policy for more details.
· The self-assessment tool is no longer required. We ask all Lakers to continue to self-monitor and engage in healthy social behaviors (i.e., handwashing, staying home when sick, testing for COVID-19 if symptomatic).
