Lifeguard

Rec Center Facility Attendant
Facility Attendants are responsible for enforcing Recreation Center policies & procedures, maintaining cleanliness of the facility, providing assistance with any set up or tear down of classes, and ensuring that all users are having an enjoyable experience in a safe environment. Floor monitors oversee the Cardio Room, Selectorized Weight Room, Basketball Courts, and Free Weight Room and Front Desks of the Recreation Center.
Starting Pay: $10.12/hour
Desired Qualifications: Work Study highly preferred, interest in athletics and recreation is a plus, prior experience in related position/field, general understanding of fitness equipment, excellent communication skills, self motivated, ability to work in fast paced environment, and customer service training.
KTB Customer Service Representative
Kelly Turf Building Customer Service Representatives will be responsible for overseeing all day to day operations of the Kelly Family Sports Center (turf building). A few of the duties this position will be responsible for include scanning in valid GVSU IDs, administering any equipment rentals, conducting point of sales with a cash register, and providing assistance with any needed facility set-up or tear down of events or groups.
Starting Pay: $10.12/hour
Desired Qualifications: Work Study strongly preferred, interest in athletics and recreation, prior experience in related position/field, general understanding of athletics and recreation, excellent communication skills, self motivated, ability to work alone.
Lifeguard
MUST HAVE CURRENT AMERICAN RED CROSS LIFEGUARD CERTIFICATION.
Lifeguards are responsible for overseeing the GVSU Pool located in the Fieldhouse during all public open hours of operation as well as for any outside day groups or overnighters that reserve the space.
Starting Pay: $10.37/hour
Desired Qualifications: Hold current certifications in Lifeguard/CPR/AED/ First Aid from the American Red Cross, 1-2 years of experience, exhibit great customer service, able to communicate with all ages, flexible schedule


GROWTH OPPORTUNITIES
STUDENT BUILDING SUPERVISOR
As a student employee at the Recreation Center there are room for growth and leadership opportunities. The Student Building Supervisor position is for student staff who have previous employment within the Athletic and Recreation Facilities Management Department, prior experience in a supervisory/management role, point of sales experience, customer service experience, leadership skills, ability to work with little to no supervision, experience in conflict resolution.

The KTB Student Supervisor position is for student staff who have previous employment Previous employment within the Athletic and Recreation Facilities Management Department required, prior experience in a supervisory/management role, point of sales experience, customer service experience, leadership skills, ability to work with little to no supervision, experience in conflict resolution.
