Welcome from the Director

Welcome from the PAS Program Director

I welcome you to Grand Valley State University’s Physician Assistant Studies Program. Our program has so much to offer, and we are excited for you to learn more about our program. Our website contains a wealth of information, and we invite you to explore its pages. As you explore the website, I want to highlight several things to focus on that make our program unique: highly qualified faculty with a broad range of experience, students dedicated to completing a rigorous curriculum while engaging in community and professional service, and a university that supports the program by providing unparalleled resources. The PAS program employs faculty with diverse clinical and research backgrounds in addiction medicine, cardiology, emergency medicine, family practice, hospital medicine, immunology, interprofessional education, orthopedics, pharmacology, physiology, pulmonology, women’s health, and urgent care to provide a well-rounded, comprehensive education for our students. Our students excel in the classroom and clinical settings while engaging in community and professional experiences organized through the Richard Paul Clodfelder Student Society (RPC) to supplement their classroom learning. The university supports our program by providing innovative learning resources on the Health Campus in Grand Rapids and partnering with the University Center in Traverse City for students learning at our distant campus. These facilities offer dedicated classroom and laboratory spaces, simulation suites, and student study spaces. All lectures are streamed live between the campuses using telepresence videoconferencing, allowing our faculty to interact with students at both campuses in real-time. Small group discussions and laboratory courses are taught at both campuses by GVSU PAS program faculty.

If you are ready to become a student in our program, we invite you to review our admission pages for further information.

We look forward to hearing from you!

GVSU PAS students come from diverse backgrounds and are eager to learn the art as well as the science of the practice of medicine. Through work in interprofessional educational experiences with Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Nursing and Pharmacy students to name just a few, PAS students get a chance to learn with and about a number of different health professions.

We are dedicated to the team based approach to health care and believe that it starts at the educational level.

Thank you again, for visiting our website. We encourage you to look around and see what our program has to offer and we look forward to hearing from you!
