GVSU Athletics regulates permission and usage of all athletic logos and follows these guidelines:
- Athletic logos cannot be altered to include academic units, departments, etc.
- Athletic logos should not be used for alumni purposes except in cases concerning student athletes.
- Athletic logos may be used for items representing school spirit, but should not be used in academic settings where the primary university logo is more appropriate (i.e. podium or lecture signs, academic newsletters, etc.)
Use of all university marks (academic and athletic) is overseen by University Marketing and questions should be sent to [email protected]. Requests to use athletic marks in accordance with the guidelines above should be directed to the Athletics Marketing and Promotions team.
The official presidential seal lends formality to communications on which it appears. It is used on very limited occasions and only by permission of the Office of the President.
Do not use the seal on any university communications without first acquiring explicit permission from the Office of the President.
Anniversary Text Treatments
Colleges, schools, institutes, centers, and other select units may request a special anniversary text treatment to be used during the anniversary year. Text treatments follow an established format and are created and provided by university marketing.
An official Grand Valley logo must also appear on any piece using the anniversary text treatment. Creating your own anniversary logo or text treatment is prohibited.
Contact [email protected] for your anniversary type treatment.
