Hazing
Grand Valley's Policy
Hazing defined by Grand Valley is an act that endangers the mental or physical health or safety of a student, or that destroys or removes public or private property, for the purpose of initiation, admission into, affiliation with, or as a condition for continued membership in a group or organization. Participation or cooperation by the person(s) being hazed does not excuse the violation. Failing to intervene to prevent (and/or) failing to discourage (and/or) failing to report those acts may also violate this policy. For more information, visit:

Chapter Coaching
Purpose
At Grand Valley State University, our chapter coaching model brings our values to life through a proactive, relationship-centered approach that supports every chapter to strive for excellence. Each chapter is paired with a staff member who will serve as their chapter coach, who will be a consistent partner. Through goal setting and ongoing dialogue, coaches support chapter leaders align their actions with their organizational values and shared values of our campus community. Our model emphasizes growth, reflection, and encourages chapters to lead with integrity, foster belonging, and pursue continued improvement.
