Campus Conversation Series: Navigating Eco-Grief: Critical Hope for a Better Future How can we feel hopeful about issues of environmental sustainability at a time when local, national, and global communities are facing climate collapse? Impacts of climate change can feel overwhelming, creating a sense of anxiety, depression, and sense of hopelessness. Yet the need to translate climate data into climate action is more pressing than ever. This Campus Conversation offers a space for the campus community to talk collectively about ways to navigate eco-grief, the emotional distress around the impacts of climate change. A goal of this conversation is to increase awareness, mutual understanding, and connections for sustaining critical hope. Conversations can strengthen community. All Walks of Life Traditional Powwow 2026 A Traditional Powwow is a gathering and celebration of Native American culture through ceremony, song, dance, feasting, and socializing. Traditional pow wows include dancers, drum groups, invited Elders, Veterans, and other honored guests to perform and participate in the celebration. The main host, the Native American Student Association has worked in strong collaboration with the Office of Multicultural Affairs and the Division of Inclusion and Equity to plan and coordinate this large-scale event. In addition, NASA has strong support from the local West Michigan Native American community in ensuring that the event is successful and respectful of traditional Native culture. The number of student participants has been steadily increasing every year, and the community interest is high. For many students, this may be their first time attending an event like this, or it may represent their first time re-entering the community in this way since the pandemic. |
