Sponsorship of activities and promotion of those activities
Through the GVSU Events Calendar (approval based), and the LakerLink Events Calendar.
Registered Student Organizations are able to submit activities on LakerLink to be reviewed by the Assistant Director of Student Organizations. If approved, the event will be showcased in the Activities tab on LakerLink. Organizations can also request for their event to be "Open for All," which means the event is public to any individual, including individuals not affiliated with Grand Valley State University. A part of the approval process by the Assistant Director of Student Organizations includes reviewing if an event is truly open to the public. If an organization selects "Open for All" when submitting their event on LakerLink and the Assistant Director of Student Organizations agrees the event is open to the public, it is electronically shared with the managers of the GVSU Events Calendar. The approvers of that calendar have their own standard of approval and will approve/deny an event to be on the public GVSU Events Calendar.
All approved activity requests on LakerLink have SmartCodes that are sent via email to the individual that submitted the request. These codes are for event scan-in and the individual who submitted the request will be able to download a report of scan-in's following the event. Students can also RSVP in the LakerLink platform to any event listed on the Activities tab.
