Portrait of My Community
On September 18, 2014, the Kutsche Office of Local History and the
Cook Library Center celebrated the first anniversary of the Cook
Library Scholars Program. The event showcased their year-long effort
to document the history of leadership and community on Grandville Avenue.

Exhibit Opening, Cook Library Center, 1100 Grandville Ave SW, Grand
Rapids, MI. September 18, 2014. The exhibit featured family stories
and key sites, past and present, documenting the rich, international
history of the Grandville Avenue neighborhood. This program is a part
of the Kutsche Office of Local History's Youth Leadership Initiative.
The community documentation and exhibit project was a collaboration
among the GVSU Kutsche Office of Local History, Grandville Avenue Arts
