Can you talk about your professors for this course?

Professor Gansen and Professor Caillaud have been exceptional professors in this course. Even though this course is technically two different classes, they work so well together and coordinate their lessons so that everything fits together well. Professor Gansen and Caillaud are very active and involved in our class and make constant efforts to better their students. Their approach to learning and discussion has been so beneficial for personally and our class as a whole. They make this class feel like family!

Can you talk about an assignment or project that was completed that you enjoyed doing?

RTTP games were the most enjoyable parts of the class. In these assignments we jumped back to historical events like trials that were held to discuss matters of nutrition in the U.S. We were assigned roles of real people and given a stance on the issue, which we had to defend by doing our own research. In the end the "senators" would vote on which side had the better argument.

What is your biggest takeaway from your sequence?

That we need to start caring more about where our food comes from and how it is procured, because many foods stem from farms that participate in slavery and indentured servitude and also because of the fact that many meat farms are treating their animals poorly.
