Register to Graduate with the Registrar and the Honors College
When you plan to graduate, please follow the instructions on the Registrar's website so your transcripts can be audited. Typically emails are sent out at the beginning of every Fall semester from the Honors College office to Seniors asking for graduation date. In order to have the Frederik Meijer Honors College designation on your diploma and transcripts, please respond to that email or email the Honors Office at [email protected] and inform them with the semester you plan to graduate.
How do I know if my requirements are completed?
Please visit the Academic Advising page for instructions on how to set up an appointment with one of our Advisors. Contact the office to set the appointment by email [email protected] or phone (616) 331-3219. Once the office is notified of your graduation date, by taking the steps above, you will also be notified if your requirements are not met.
Meijer Honors College Senior Recognition Ceremony
Ceremony Information and Profile Request
The Fall 2023 ceremony will be held on December 8, 2023 and the Winter/Summer 2023 Senior Recognition Ceremony will be held on April 26, 2024. Please check back here as more information will be posted as planning is completed. Winter 2024 Information
Ceremony Information: The ceremony will be held on Friday, April 26, 2024 at 4:00 p.m. in Eberhard Center ending with hors d'oeuvres following the ceremony. *Please note that the ceremony should be completed by 5:30 so students commencing on Friday evening should have time to get to Van Andel* Each graduating student will be allowed two guests and you must RSVP in order to attend. Emails with the RSVP link have been sent to students on our list. If you did not receive an email please contact Robyn Toth. After the RSVP is closed please contact the office to see if additional guests can be accommodated.
Profile Book: As part of the RSVP, whether you are planning on attending or not, there is information requested that will be used for the ceremony but also a profile booklet which is posted online (see previous books above). If you are attending you must complete this information, if you are not we do ask that you still complete it so we can share your profile. We love to know what our graduating students have done at GV and the Meijer Honors College as well as where they are headed next.
Parking: Parking is allowed in the Fulton Street lot.
Attire is business casual, no caps & gowns.
Meijer Honors College Stole and Medallion
The stole and medallion as pictured are typically given to all graduating seniors at the Recognition Ceremony. If not attending the ceremony arrangements can be made with the office to pick them up. If you are attending the ceremony but would like a stole and medallion for pictures, please contact the office to make arrangements to pick up then return before the ceremony.
For Winter 2024, if you are not attending the Senior Recognition Ceremony, you will be able to pick the stole & medallion up at the office (120 Niemeyer) Monday, April 22, 2024 through Thursday, April 25, 2024 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. If you are not able to pick up during those times please contact the office to make alternate arrangements.
