Additional Campus Resources

The resources listed below are free to use by currently enrolled GVSU students, and may be beneficial for meeting a variety of student needs you may encounter as a Mental Health Ambassador.

CARE Team

The CARE Team supports students by addressing a multitude of well-being and resource concerns that may be experienced throughout their time as a Laker, including mental health concerns, food insecurity, need of health insurance, housing instability, and more. You may submit a CARE Referral for a student you may be concerned about to assist them in getting the help they need.

Student Ombuds

Student Ombus provides assistance in regards to roommate disputes, disciplinary concerns, cultural issues, financial concerns, housing issues, problem solving, and conflicts.

Title IX and Institutional Equity

Title IX protects any person from sex-based discrimination, regardless of their real or perceived sex, gender identity, and/or gender expression. University members may seek supportive measures, university investigations, and/or campus modifications designed to protect student safety.

Center for Women and Gender Equity

The CWGE advocates for gender justice through the education, engagement and empowerment of women, gender diverse students, and the greater GVSU community. They also host the Victim Advocate for survivors of gender-based violence and organize Replenish, the food and personal care resource for students on campus.

Office of Student Life

Social connection is important for all students, especially those experiencing mental health concerns. Student Life empowers students to connect through student organizations, community service, leadership development and much more.

Office of Multicultural Affairs

The Office of Multicultural Affairs advocates for a campus climate that respects and appreciates the history, culture, and traditions of different ethnic groups, and offers diversity and cultural learning opportunities for students.

LGBT Resource Center

The LGBT Resource Center supports and challenges all students on their developmental journey by creating an expansive space for students to understand and determine their own experiences within the context of the systems of sexuality and gender as well as within the context of other overlapping systems like race, class and ability.

Military and Veterans Resource Center

GVSU is a university dedicated to being veteran-inclusive, and we've created a comprehensive program that helps veterans feel supported and connected all the way through graduation and beyond.  Jill Wolfe works to assist Laker Vets throughout their time at GVSU.

Padnos International Center

The Padnos International Center advocates for international students on campus and serves as a primary resource for legal, cultural, and social matters for international students.
