Project management is the process of planning, organizing, and overseeing tasks and resources to achieve specific goals within a defined timeframe.

Overview

Grand Valley's Project Management certificate integrates industry-proven project management practices with Agile principles, preparing students to effectively initiate, plan, execute, control, and close real-world projects. This program is available in face-to-face and accelerated online formats, offering flexibility for both degree and non-degree-seeking students of all ages.

The coursework covers project planning, Agile project management, team building, and applied business solutions. These topics equip students with analytical, interpersonal, and information processing skills necessary for successful project management.

This certificate develops professional skills that employers seek, such as management, communications, team building, and project planning. This certificate can be completed in one year or less, enhancing one's resume with recognized credentials and contributing to the economic growth of West Michigan and the Great Lakes region.

Admission Information

For new students, visit the Admissions website for undergraduate requirements. Upon acceptance and for current students:

  • Declare your certificate via myBanner (Login to Banner Self-Service, click on Student, Student Records, Add a Certificate or Badge to your Program, Select the appropriate certificate from the drop down list, and click Submit)
  • Speak with the appropriate certificate coordinator to ensure criteria are being met (you will be able to track your progress toward the certificate in myPath as well!)
  • Once you are done with the requirements, apply to receive the certificate via myBanner.
  • Once the completion of your certificate has been verified, the certificate will be posted to your student record and will be viewable on your transcript.
