The Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) in general business is a versatile degree for students seeking a diverse business education. Without emphasizing a specific area of study, students gain knowledge and experience across fields while gaining practical experience. Learn to identify and analyze problems, create and communicate effective solutions, make decisions, and monitor results. The coursework covers a variety of topics, such as accounting, administrative policy, economics, finance, marketing, management, entrepreneurship, and family business.

Small class sizes mean you get personal interaction with professors and the Small Business Technology Development Center provides great networking opportunities with business leaders. Internships are designed to fit your field of study and class schedule, allowing you to gain valuable experience. and downtown Grand Rapids provides a vibrant business hub to house campus.

Admission Information

Seidman's Early Access Program

Each year, the Seidman College of Business allows early access into the business college to a select few individuals as first-year students. This honor is reserved for students who have received a 3.500 or higher high school GPA.

Seidman Success Standards

For students not part of Seidman’s Early Access program, the Seidman College of Business permits access to upper-level (300-400) business courses after meeting the following Seidman Success Standards:
1. Have earned at least 55 semester hours (junior status)
2. Established a 2.500 or higher overall GPA; and
3. Completed the following courses with a 2.500 or higher combined GPA: ACC 212, BUS 201, ECO 210, ECO 211, MGT 268, STA 215

Career Opportunities

Examine, analyze, and interpret accounting records to prepare financial statements, give advice, or audit and evaluate statements prepared by others. Install or advise on systems of recording costs or other financial and budgetary data.
