Employers

Working or retired professionals, particularly Grand Valley alumni familiar with GVSU programs and resources, are encouraged to become a resource for Grand Valley students seeking to better understand a particular field or profession.

To be added to the Career Contact Bank, employers/alumni should:

• Register by clicking on the New Employers link in the box at the right
• Complete the registration form (GVSU will verify all information provided)
• Set the maximum number of contacts you wish to receive from students during a year

At that time, your profile (not including your name and contact information) will be available for browsing by students. If a student selects your profile as a person who interests them:

• An email will be automatically sent to you with the student's basic information (name, major, year in college, email)
• An email is also sent to the student with your contact information
• The student will contact you to set an informational telephone interview or in-person visit to your place of work
• If the informational interview results in a desire to learn more, you may agree to have the student conduct a job shadow to see just what your day-to-day work-life is like (typically a 1/2 or full day)
