Retirement Send Off

After over 25 years as a faculty member in the School of Social Work, Dr. Joan Borst is retiring after this spring semester. During her tenure at GVSU she has worked in the Field Education Office, served as the BSW and MSW program directors, and taught extensively in the BSW and MSW programs. Her social work practice experience and teaching have focused on health care and her work within the HIV / AIDS community. She has also taught a service learning course in Ireland for two decades, escorting many students from across the university to learn more about Irish culture, policies, and social work. We wish Dr. Borst well in her retirement journey and she plans to teach SW 322 Responding to Chronic Illness in the fall.
