Experience:
Professor Langlois (Jamie) has been teaching in the School of Social Work (SSW) at Grand Valley State University (GVSU) since 2004.  Prior to teaching, Jamie supervised social work interns in her direct practice roles facilitating and overseeing restorative programming, serving primarily juvenile offenders and the victims of crime.  Jamie is completing a doctoral degree with an emphasis in teaching and leadership as practice.  She is committed to modeling social work values in all of her roles, which translates into using the platforms of teaching, research, and service to alleviate oppression and injustice.  Through her Doctorate of Social Work, Jamie learned how to engage, assess, intervene, and evaluate learners and create learning environments that maximize learning potential for all voices.  Jamie is primarily interested in teaching macro level courses, infusing engaged learning pedagogies, and evaluating learning to inform teaching practices.
