Student Permits
Students living on or commuting to any GVSU campus must have a valid parking permit. Each permit type has different parking areas and billing rules. Use this page to find the permit that applies to you.
Students who are currently enrolled at GVSU and do not live in University-owned housing on campus are considered commuter students.
Billing and Refunds
Student Commuter permits are $240 per semester and billed per semester.
These permits are only valid in Student Commuter parking areas marked by a red “S” on signs throughout the Allendale / Valley Campus, Grand Rapids Campus, and Health Campus.
If a semester permit is purchased in the fall semester, it will automatically be renewed in the winter semester.
If you no longer need a permit for the winter, you must complete the permit refund form.
Permit charges are billed directly to your student account 24–48 hours after registration.
Permit prices are not prorated.
Refunds follow the University’s refund schedule. Refunds will not be accepted after the deadline has passed.
Parking Services also offers $10 1-Day Student Commuter Passes via the Parking Portal or 30-Day Student Commuter Passes at any Parking Services office.
