You will be billed per semester, so if you register in August, you will only be billed the Fall semester portion at that time and will be auto billed if the permit is still active when Winter semester bills are available. If you are no longer in need of a permit after 1 semester or are graduating, it is up to the student to request a refund.
No, parking permits are not required at the Holland, Muskegon or Traverse City campuses.
No, each student parking on campus must have their own parking permit. Permit sharing is not permitted and may result in a violation.
Yes, you must notify Parking Services when your housing status changes and we can adjust your permit to match your housing status. In some cases, there may be an extra associated permit charge.
If your access card or loaner card is not working to get you in the Winter or Secchia Lots, you will need to park in the Seward Flat Lot or Seward Ramp and stop at the resident desk in Winter Hall. Parking is not permitted in Student Commuter or Specially Signed Spaces.
If your vehicle has a temporary license plate, you will enter the last 8 digits of the VIN number (located on the driver's side dash by the windshield) and contact Parking Services with the temporary plate number. Upon receiving the permanent license plate, you can edit your plate number in your account.

No, appeals can only be submitted through our online portal. More instructions can be found here on how to appeal your parking violation.
If you are a GVSU student, violations will be sent to your student account for payment 10 days after the violation is written *unless violation is appealed. For GVSU Faculty/Staff and non GVSU campus parkers, please visit the information here to learn more about paying for your violation.
No, any active registered student must obtain their own parking permit when parking on campus. Sharing a permit is not permitted.
If your car is broken down and not able to be moved, please contact Parking Services to inform us about the issue and we will provide a 24 hour courtesy permit. Anything past the 24 hours may require documentation to show that there are efforts to move the disabled vehicle.
