Where Can I Purchase a Permit?

Permits are available for purchase in the following locations:  

Online (This process can take up to two weeks or longer to receive your permit, so please make sure you print your temporary 30 day permit - link is available on the last page of purchase) Purchase Here

Lot J and Calder Permits are only available at Parking Services, Allendale. As of September 19, Student Commuter permits are no longer available online for the rest of the academic year.

Allendale Campus:

Pew Campus:

Pew Campus Security - Eberhard Center (Please refer to business hours)

Student Temporary Daily Permits - $6

Daily temporary permits are available to all students of GVSU at a cost of $6 per day and will be billed directly to the student's account. Students are eligible for up to twenty permits per semester. If you need to be on campus with greater frequency or you are looking for convenience, please consider purchasing a traditional cling parking permit by clicking the image below.

Permit pricing for the 2017-2018 academic year:

  • GVSU Resident = $190 per semester
  • Full time Commuter rate (7 or more credits) = $210 per semester
  • Part-time Commuter rate (6 or less credits) = $120 per semester
  • LOT J-Commuter rate = $75 per semester

LOT O-Calder and LOT J-Commuter are only available over the counter at Parking Services in Allendale.  LOT J-Commuter are first come-first served.

Please be aware: Student parking is not available at the Cook Health Science Building (CHS). Students are welcome to use the transit system provided at no cost to the GVSU community. Please visit for additional information.

We require student ID at the time of all purchases of parking permits for over-the-counter sales.

Permits are available for sale throughout the entire year. Please be aware that we do not prorate our permit prices.
