Student Permits

Winter 2022 Semester permits will be available for purchase online through the Citizen Connect Portal beginning Monday, October 18, 2021 at 8:00am

Student permits are digital - there is nothing to display - YOUR PLATE IS YOUR PERMIT!

Add a shortcut of citizen connect portal to your phone

  1. Navigate to the citizen connect portal and load that page
  2. Tap the share button (square with arrow point up) at the bottom of the screen
  3. Scroll down and tap “Add to Home Screen”
  4. Adjust the bookmark name if needed and then tap “Add” at the top right

**Part-Time Students

Part-time students with 6 or less credits are eligible for a commuter permit for $150.00 per semester.  Please register for the Student Commuter permit and the charge will be adjusted in your student account.


Daily temporary permits are available to all active students of GVSU at $10 per day and will be billed directly to the student's account. Daily permits are non-refundable and cannot be exchanged. If you need to park on campus more frequently, please consider purchasing a traditional semester parking permit. 


Semester permits are available for purchase throughout the year, however, prices are not prorated. The permit charge is billed directly to your student account based on your enrolled credit hours per semester. 

Permit Refunds

Permit refunds are based on the same tuition refund schedule as Student Accounts.


Registration for each semester(fall/winter) must be done separately.
