DBATU International Agreement
Overview
This page serves to lay out the agreement between the Grand Valley State University College of Computing and Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Technological University (DBATU). These exchanges will help both institutions learn from each other and continue to grow their programs.
Admissions
- Complete the International Student Interest Form.
- Begin the graduate application.
- While program requirements must still be met, we take a holistic view of each application.
- English proficiency requirement is waived
- Transcripts
- You may submit unofficial transcripts during the application process.
- However, if admitted and you enroll, you must submit your official final transcripts before the last day of your first semester at GVSU.
- Two recommendations
- Resume
- Personal statement
- If your transcripts are not in English, then you will need to submit an English-translated transcript along with the original transcript. Both documents need to be emailed by your institution to [email protected].

After Admittance
- Admitted graduate students will work with an advisor and/or their graduate program director to build a plan of study.
- Review the requirements and expectations of a Graduate Assistantship. Decisions are made in April for the coming academic year.

On-Campus Housing
Grand Valley State University offers on-campus housing on the City Campus located in Grand Rapids, MI and on the Valley Campus in Allendale, MI. Both offer proximity to classes and facilities (recreation, dining, etc.). Additionally, housing costs include all utilities (including internet) and a laundry card.

Frequently Asked Questions
Per the agreement made between GVSU and your school, any admitted student will get a scholarship letter confirming in-state tuition, which can be used as part of the financial documents needed to obtain an I-20.
We have worked closely with area employers to find what they are looking for from our graduates, and we are establishing internship sites with them. Our internship partner coordinator, Chris Babbitt at [email protected], is a great contact for more information.
Definitely! We have full-time staff dedicated to finding internships and providing career development. GVSU's International Student Services office is an excellent support as well.
Yes! We have regular social and informational events at the College of Computing, and we have many student organizations.
There will be an international orientation that you will have to attend, hosted by the International Student Services office.
We also have an International Student Engagement Coordinator in the College of Computing, Holli Reyes, who organizes activities to help you connect with life at GVSU, explore Michigan, and experience U.S. culture.
