In the College of Computing at GVSU, faculty and students engage in a wide range of basic and applied research activities across many different areas.

Our faculty pursue interdisciplinary collaborations locally, nationally, and globally that bridge computing with health, engineering, education, business, humanities, and beyond to address complex societal, environmental, and industrial challenges.

We are strongly committed to quality mentoring of undergraduate and graduate students throughout all stages of the research process to develop the next generation of scholars and innovators.

Institutes & Labs

The College of Computing’s collaborative, interdisciplinary culture drives the growth of our institutes and labs, where faculty and students work together to advance innovative solutions across computing and emerging technologies.

Research starts here

At the College of Computing, students at every level, from first-year undergraduates to graduate students, actively engage in faculty-led research. Whether through academic programs or hands-on opportunities in our labs and institutes, students gain valuable experience, build mentorship connections, and develop portfolios that set them apart in industry and graduate programs.

In addition to our own students, we proudly host international scholars and visiting students who collaborate with our faculty and students on groundbreaking research. These global partnerships enrich the academic experience and foster innovation across borders.
