Instructional & Computing Labs
Valley Campus
Located predominantly in Mackinac Hall (MAK)
The College of Computing has four labs dedicated to our students. Three of these labs run linux (EOS, ARCH and DataCom) and are support by our own HPC Support Team.
- Exploratory Operations Systems Lab: Linux-based instructional lab with EOS OS, ideal for operating systems coursework. Learn more on the Exploratory Operations Systems Lab page.

Linux Lab: This lab is equipped with 32 linux machines in hybrid computer tables.
Mac Lab: This lab is equipped with 32 iMac machines in hybrid computer tables.
Research & Innovation Labs
Valley Campus
Located in Mackinac Hall (MAK)
Undergraduate Research Lab - This lab is a dedicated area for student-faculty research projects.
Distributed Execution Network Lab – This lab is a place for students to learn about and perform research in high performance computing, machine learning, and artificial intelligence. Learn more on the Distributed Execution Network Lab page.

City Campus
Located in DeVos Center for Interprofessional Health (DCIH)
Applied Computing Institute: The Applied Computing Institute is a hub for industry-engaged research and innovation, connecting faculty and students with real-world computing challenges through collaborative projects and experiential learning.
Graduate Assistant Office: This space is utilized by our Graduate Assistants to store and work on their assigned GA projects. This room is equipped with computers and individual work spaces.

The four project rooms on the City Campus are all located within the Graduate Student Suite DCIH 540.
- Student Project Room 540K: This project room is equipped with a whiteboard, zoom room technology for virtual meetings, power outlets and capacity for groups of five or less.
- Student Project Room 540G: This project room is equipped with a whiteboard, zoom room technology for virtual meetings, power outlets and capacity for groups of five or less.
- Student Project Room 540F: This project room is equipped with a whiteboard, zoom room technology for virtual meetings, power outlets and capacity for groups of five or less.
- Student Project Room 540D: This project room is equipped with a whiteboard, zoom room technology for virtual meetings, power outlets and capacity for groups of five or less.
Conference & Meeting Spaces
Valley Campus

- CIS Keycards: Access to Allendale labs require a keycard as they are not for the general GVSU student population.
- Accounts: EOS and Architecture labs require a separate sign-on than from the University general labs.
