Module Overview

What is it?

An assortment of manually inputted events, presented in a list format.

When should I use it?

When seeking to provide a dedicated section for your audience to access and view all upcoming events hosted by your department.

How do I create one?

  1. Click  + New Module and select events.
    1. Give your event module a name if desired. 
  2. Click + New Event.
  3. Select if the event will be public (everyone can see it) or private (only those invited can see it).
  4. Give your event a title under General Information. 
  5. Add a summary of your event in the text box below the title. 
  6. Select the date and start/end times for the event. 
  7. Select whether the event will repeat or not. If so, click the + Add Date button. 
  8. Add an image to your event if desired using the File Manager button. 
  9. Add a description for the event.
  10. Add optional contact information. 
  11. Add optional location information. 
  12. Click Submit when done. 
  13. Repeat steps 2-13 for as many events as desired.

Adding the module to a content page:

  1. Click edit on the page you want to add the module to. 
  2. Click manage modules from the toolbar on the right.
  3. Select the event module you created in the steps above.
  4. Drag the event module to its desired location on the page, and resize if needed. 
  5. Click edit on the module to adjust the following display settings:
    1. Select the number of events to display.
    2. Select the order the events should be displayed.
    3. Select whether to display the thumbnails
    4. Select whether to display the summaries.

What is it?

A module that allows a user to share photos in a single collection. 

When should I use it?

You should use the gallery when you want to show case photos from a portfolio, event, etc. 

How do I create one?

  1. Click  + New Module and select gallery.
    1. Give your module a name if desired. 
  2. Click + Add Photos.
  3. Select one or more photos from your file manager, upload new photos, or select from Widen.
  4. Optional steps
    1. Edit a photo by clicking the pencil
    2. Provide a title
    3. Provide a description
    4. Click Submit when finished.
  5. Repeat steps 2-4 for additional photos.

Adding the module to a content page:

  1. Click edit on the page you want to add the module to. 
  2. Click manage modules from the toolbar on the right.
  3. Select the gallery module you created in the steps above.
  4. Drag the gallery module to its desired location on the page, and resize if needed. 
  5. Click edit on the module to adjust the following display settings.
    1. Select how many photos to display on the page.

What is it?

A module that you can add stories to and display in a searchable list. This replaces the News, Blog, and Spotlights modules from CMS4.

When should I use it?

A news module serves to promptly inform website visitors about time-sensitive information, such as news updates, contrasting with a blog that may feature content less reliant on immediate relevance.

How do I create one?

  1. Click  + New Module and select news.
    1. Give your module a name if desired. 
  2. Click + New Post.
  3. Add a title to your post.
  4. Add a summary to your post (this will be shown before a user clicks to read the full story).
  5. Select if the post is hidden or published.
  6. If the post is published, select the date for publishing. The post will be remain hidden if a future date is selected.
  7. Add an author for the post (optional).
  8. Select if the post will be shareable on other CMS sites.
  9. Add a thumbnail to the post (optional).
  10. Add categories for organizational, filtering, and sharing purposes (optional).
  11. Build your post using the Editor just like any other Content.
  12. Click Submit when done. 
  13. Repeat steps 2-12 for additional stories. 

Adding the module to a content page:

  1. Click edit on the page you want to add the module to. 
  2. Click manage modules from the toolbar on the right.
  3. Select the posts module you created in the steps above.
  4. Drag the posts module to its desired location on the page, and resize if needed. 
  5. Click edit on the module to adjust the following display settings:
    1. Select the number of posts to display. 
    2. Select the order the posts should be displayed.
    3. Select whether to display the thumbnails
    4. Select whether to display the summaries.
    5. Select whether to display the dates and authors.
    6. Select whether to display the categories.
