Apply- Art Education Portfolio Review

Do not apply if you are seeking a degree in Studio Art,  Art History, Film & Video Production, or Photography

Admission to Grand Valley State University does not guarantee access or admission to the Art Education Degree Programs. Students interested in pursing an Art Education Degree must first submit work through the Art Education Portfolio Review Process.

In light of COVID-19, all applications must be submitted online. Applicants will not attend reviews in-person or virtually at this time.

Application Requirements

Incoming Freshmen Application

 

IF YOU ARE...

  • A high-school student (current, graduate or GED certificate) who has been admitted to GVSU and have a portfolio of works.

REQUIRED APPLICATION MATERIALS

The following materials are required for a freshman application:

  • Completed Application Form
  • Portfolio of works (submit works online or send website link)
  • High School GPA
  • High School Graduation Date or GED Certificate Date
  • List of Extracurricular Activities

IF YOU ARE...

  • A GVSU student with a major other than Art Education who has been admitted to GVSU and has a portfolio of works.
     

REQUIRED APPLICATION MATERIALS

The following materials are required for internal students:

  • Completed Application Form

Transfer Student Application

 

IF YOU ARE...

  • A Transfer student currently not attending GVSU who has been admitted and have a portfolio of work. 


REQUIRED APPLICATION MATERIALS

The following materials are required for transfer students:

  • Completed Application Form
  • Portfolio of works (submit works online or send website link)
  • Transcripts from other colleges/universities attended
  • GPA from previous colleges/universities

IF YOU ARE...

  • Without any previous examples of Art work to create a Portfolio.


 

RECOMMENDATION:

  • Begin building your Portfolio by registering for Foundation Art classes to create a portfolio and subsequently apply as a Current Student.
