Professional Experience:

Haresh Dalvi is an Assistant Professor in the School of Social Work at Grand Valley State University and serves as Associate Director of Admissions and Recruitment for the MSW program. He holds an MSW in Medical and Psychiatric Social Work from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences in Mumbai, India. His international experience in educational and community settings informs his teaching, research, and engagement with diverse students and service populations.

Before joining GVSU, Professor Dalvi taught at the Indiana University School of Social Work and at Saginaw Valley State University's Department of Social Work and Youth Services. With over 20 years of combined experience in social work education and practice, he has taught courses across micro, mezzo, and macro domains, including social work research, program evaluation, social welfare policy, single-subject research design, and practice with individuals, families, and groups. He has also supervised practicum students and served as a faculty practicum liaison.

He is actively involved in nonprofit program evaluation, assisting organizations with designing evaluation frameworks, conducting needs assessments, assessing program implementation and outcomes, improving services, strengthening funding strategies, and enhancing accountability to clients, funders, and community stakeholders.

Professor Dalvi is pursuing a PhD in Social Work at the Indiana University School of Social Work, with a minor in Education. His dissertation examines how field practicum supervisors construct and evaluate students' CSWE EPAS competencies when evidence is uncertain.
