Welcome Dr. Jenny Tanis

We’re excited to welcome Dr. Jenny Tanis as a faculty member in the School of Social Work this August. Since she earned her MSW from GVSU in 2014, she has practiced as a clinical social worker in capacities with children and families; she holds an LMSW- clinical license in Michigan. Prior to joining our faculty, Dr. Tanis served as an Assistant Professor of Social Work at Hope College for four years. Her research examines how social and economic policies, such a paid family and medical leave, shape family stability and well-being. Dr. Tanis will be teaching in the BSW and MSW programs, including social policy (SW 319), child welfare (SW 320), and generalist practice (SW 603). We’re looking forward to her contributions and work with students!
