Retirement Announcement

Amanda Stansbie, who served as an internship placement coordinator for the past four years, retired effective August 31. Prior to that, she worked in the Hospitality and Tourism Management unit for 14 years. She was a valuable contributor to GVSU during her 18 years of service and will be missed in the College of Education and Community Innovation.
Prof. Stansbie's Bio:
Before joining the School of Social Work
department in the summer of 2022, Professor Stansbie had worked as
Internship Coordinator within the department of Hospitality &
Tourism Management at Grand Valley State University, since early 2008.
Prior to this, she was employed as Reservations Manager with Thistle
Hotels in Birmingham, England, Assistant Restaurant Manager with Hyatt
Hotels in California, and Sales Consultant for Thomson Holidays in
Birmingham, England. Professor Stansbie’s MSW field education
experience was with Grand Valley State University’s Counseling Center.
