RE: MANDATORY FIELD EDUCATION ORIENTATIONS
As part of your MSW program, you will be required to participate in Field Education. Field Education will be an opportunity for you to apply social work knowledge, values and skills learned through course work in a real world setting.
Advanced Standing students complete 660 hours of Field Education over two consecutive semesters. On average, you can expect to spend approximately 21 hours each week at a Field Education agency.
Advanced Standing students intending to graduate in winter 2017 will begin Field Education II in Fall 2016. For these students, Field Education Applications are due to the Field Education Office on Monday, May 9, 2016 . Prior to applying for Field Education, you must attend a MANDATORY Field Education Orientation that will present information on the process of applying and interviewing for Field Education. Listed below are the dates and times for four Field Education Orientations. Please send an email to Professor Deborah Ronk [email protected] to RSVP for one of these Orientations.
