The most helpful aspects of my undergraduate education in mathematics were: Persistence. Persistence through the mathematics degree has helped me in my career. Nobody is going to like EVERYTHING related to their major, and finding out what parts you love the most help tremendously.
The advice I’d offer to current undergraduate students in mathematics: Get involved, make new friends, and HAVE FUN!
In a typical day in my work, I: work with clients all around Michigan on creating new websites and custom applications.
Other thoughts/comments:The GVSU Mathematics Department feels like a family. Going back into Mackinac Hall after being gone for a few years feels like home. Not every department at GVSU is like this, get to know your professors!
