There a couple of things in Haiti that are not so different from the U.S. One of them is the proliferation of cell phones. Digicell and Voila both sell phones and offer pay as you go service. It is truly amazing the coverage and number of rural Haitians with cell phones or access to a cell phone. The cell companies have created a cottage business for people in Haiti who resell cell phone minutes and they call it "Papa Dap". Seems like a good model for Haiti.
