1. Tell us about your journey since graduation.
Since graduation, I worked for a Fortune 500 company as a
software developer (UFPI) in Grand Rapids for almost five years, at
which point I decided to quit and start my own web design agency for
local service businesses, Kopplin Co. I have been running the company
since 2025 and plan to continue growing it into a successful business.
2. Share a favorite Grand Valley memory.
One of my favorite Grand Valley memories is longboarding around
campus and my apartment in Allendale. The campus and surrounding areas
are so beautiful, and it's really tough to beat going outside on a
nice sunny day and riding around or riding to and from campus on a longboard.
3. What's the best piece of advice you've ever received?
The best piece of advice I've ever received was from my father,
who taught me that I am the pilot of my own soul and my own destiny.
He taught me that I am always in control, and this has resulted in me
focusing on being authentic to myself and knowing that I can create my
own path rather than following traditional paths, which may or may not
be suited to my personality and character.
4. List three words you would use to describe your Grand
Valley experience.
Fun, rewarding, self-discovery.
5. What difference would you like to make in the world?
I would like to make the world a better place and serve others by
following in the footsteps of Jesus Christ.
