Handshake is GVSU’s official recruiting platform, connecting employers with students and alumni across all majors and industries.
Create an Employer Handshake Account
The first step to becoming a GVSU employer partner is to create a Handshake account. Handshake offers employers the ability to post jobs, track applicants, schedule on-campus interviews, register for career fairs and events, and receive recruitment-related invitations and announcements from the Career Center.

How to Post Your Job or Internship
Once your Handshake account is approved:
- Log in to Handshake.
- Click Post a Job from your dashboard or navigate to Jobs > Create Job.
- Complete the four posting tabs: Basics, Details, Preferences, and Schools.
- Click Create to submit for approval. Job postings are reviewed (link to standards?) within 1–3 business days
Complete as many fields as possible to attract better-qualified applicants.
