PADNOS - Environmental Health and Safety Specialist
1. Tell us about your journey since graduation.
Since graduation, I started my career at PADNOS which is a recycling company primarily based in West Michigan. I am very grateful to have found an Environmental Health and Safety Specialist position which directly correlates with my area of study at GVSU. It is a great feeling to wake up every day for work, knowing that I am making a difference in our employee's lives.
2. Share a favorite Grand Valley memory.
My favorite Grand Valley memory was my time as the Lab Assistant for the Occupational Safety and Health Department. I was able to assist students, learn all of the equipment we use throughout our field, and build great relationships with the faculty and staff for the department. Throughout my last year in the position, I spent a lot of time fit testing all of the Grand Valley health care students with N95 respirators as these were required for their clinical rotations. It was great to meet all these students and see how much talent we have at Grand Valley.
3. What's the best piece of advice you've ever received?
The best piece of advice I've ever received is to always keep in mind that every person you meet has been through something you haven't been through.
4. List three words you would use to describe your Grand
Friendship, Knowledge, Growth
5. What difference would you like to make in the world?
Throughout my career, I would like to continue to help my employees be able to go home safely to their families every day as well as continue to make efforts to lessen our environmental footprint to ensure future generations will be able to thrive.
