1. Tell us about your journey since graduation.
I graduated in 2007 with a B.B.A. in Accounting and B.S. in Sociology. I worked two and a half years in public accounting before entering graduate school to study Sociology. I returned to school because of great experiences in Sociology undergraduate classes, and started working in diversity/multicultural affairs in 2015 because of the Office of Multicultural Affairs at GVSU.
2. Share a favorite Grand Valley memory.
My favorite GVSU memories are probably related to the group road trips to Florence, Alabama for the 2005 and 2006 Division II National Championship football games.
3. What's the best piece of advice you've ever received?
It's hard to identify the best, but one quote that inspires me is, “At the very instant that we become satisfied, at the very moment we think that the status quo is enough, that’s when we start to decline," by former Toyota president Katsuaki Watanabe.
4. List three words you would use to describe your Grand
Impactful, enlightening, and life-changing.
5. What difference would you like to make in the world?
My work is primarily about cultivating and expanding inclusion, motivated by an ethic of love for one's neighbor.
